Get Out gets so much right—it’s genuinely unsettling and creepy, yet those moments where you grip the armrest are reinforced and heightened with solid filmmaking. Jordon Peele’s directs and writes the horror genre with aplomb, yet also pull from his past history in comedy, all while tackling the issue of growing race tensions without demonizing Causacians. One could say the only criticisms is wanting more of that skill; those nice character moments Peele writes could be enhanced by one-two more, and there was more room to dig in deeper into the discussion of race.
